GC Insight supported the development of a compelling Investment Proposition for Barrow-in-Furness, working with the Council, the LEP and major employers to engage with central government to make the case for investment to leverage the transformational growth opportunities presented by the presence of nationally significant defence and energy sectors and to tackle structural inequalities.

The proposition established a strong case for investment in infrastructure, housing, public services and quality of life offer to fuel growth and deliver benefits for the local community. The proposition facilitated increased policy focus by Central Government on Barrow and underpinned the recent announcement to invest £220m over 10 years in a Barrow Transformation Fund.
