Pendle Economic Growth Strategy

GC Insight developed a new economic growth strategy for Pendle on behalf of Pendle Borough Council.

The strategy established a long term vision for the borough, outlining key priorities and actions for the 2025-2029 period. An evidence pack was collated, synthesising existing intelligence with fresh insight, and complemented by extensive consultation through 1-1 interviews and focus groups to gather perspectives and co-develop strategic responses. Working closely with the Council, GC Insight developed a strategic framework framed around three pillars of People, Business, and Place with cross-cutting themes of effective partnerships, sustainable and inclusive growth. A range of actions were developed and this was supplemented by a more detailed action plan.

“GC Insight have delivered a range of high quality commissions for Pendle Borough Council over a number of years, the most recent of which is the Pendle Economic Growth Strategy 2025-2026.

Working to a demanding timeline, the GC Insight team developed a strong evidence base, and undertook extensive consultation through one-to-one discussions and workshops with a range of stakeholders including local authority, private sector and key partner representatives.

GC Insight worked seamlessly with council officers throughout the process, taking on board our comments, but also advising on best practice to help inform our strategy. I would have no hesitation in recommending GC Insight to any other local authority seeking to develop their own economic growth strategy. ”
