GC Insight supported Thurrock Council as they updated their Economic Development Needs Assessment, which will inform their New Local Plan covering a 20-year period.
GC Insight carried out a review of the socio-economic baseline position for the area and updated the policy context informing the EDNA. A number of scenarios were developed to set out potential future demand for employment land. These took into account the role of town centres as well as the impact of strategic sites and projects including the Freeport and Lower Thames Crossing.
We made recommendations for how Thurrock can support the growth of key sectors and ensure that the supply of strategic employment land is aligned with demand. Following on from this, our team gave evidence on employment demand issues at the Examination in Public (EiP) for the Local Plan.
