The strategy was underpinned by a comprehensive evidence base focusing on the detailed aspects of population and place, children and education, and skills and the labour market. Extensive stakeholder consultation took place involving employers, schools, colleges, community groups, children, parent representatives and other representative bodies as well as members of the council and senior local and regional officials. ekosgen led the development of an accompanying Equalities Impact Assessment to ascertain the impact of the strategy on priority groups.
The strategy is framed around four priority areas including foundational learning, pathways to achievement, future workforce. These are priorities which will help to support delivery and allow the transformation of education and learning within Central Bedfordshire. Key principals of fairness, inclusion and equity are embedded in the strategy.
