Creating a tourism strategy for Edinburgh

  • Year: 2023
  • Client: City of Edinburgh Council
  • Delivered By: ekosgen

ekosgen was commissioned by the City of Edinburgh to support the development of the city’s 2030 Tourism Strategy. The strategy provides a needed strategic framework to inform and shape the future of the city’s tourism sector, which plays an increasingly important role in the city’s economy. Because the growth in tourism brings both benefits and challenges, it is important that all stakeholders have a clear sense of purpose and direction in how to go about capitalising on the growth and addressing the occasional challenge.

ekosgen also developoed a long-term framework through which the objectives of the strategy could be delivered. Those goals included connectivity between all partners and stakeholders who have responsibility for directly delivering tourism activity, as well as supporting the tourism sector, and a fit-for-purpose governance model for tourism to align with the partnerships priority.
