Evaluation of Adult Education Budget (AEB)
- Client: West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA)
We were commissioned to evaluate the impact of the Adult Education Budget (AEB) and associated activities, since its devolution in 2019.
We were commissioned to evaluate the impact of the Adult Education Budget (AEB) and associated activities, since its devolution in 2019.
Adult education can improve individuals’ quality of life, self-confidence and opportunities, as well as providing employers with the skills they need for growth. The AEB funds training to help people in the West Midlands find jobs and to upskill those already in work.
Assessing the contribution the AEB has made, or will make, to WMCA’s ambitions – as set out in the Regional Skills Plan and Local Industrial Strategy – the evaluation has to date involved a review of programme information, analysis of Individual Learner Records, qualitative interviews with stakeholders, plus a survey of learners and comparison group of non-learners.
