HEY Employment and Skills Strategy 2021-2026 established a vision for a skilled, healthy and inclusive economy for Hull and East Yorkshire. Working on behalf of HEY LEP we worked closely with the Employment and Skills Board to establish strategic aims, priorities, objectives and interventions required to grow the economy of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) State of the Economy Report 2023 provided a baseline and benchmark analysis of the region, assessing the extent to which the economy had recovered from the pandemic and current drivers of change. The study focused on key indicators related to economic growth, business activity, people and places. It identified the current position and trends over time, and laid out clear short-term and long-term recommendations on policy, investments and priorities for action.
Hull and East Yorkshire LSIP Research involved studying employer skill needs to inform the development of the Local Skills Improvement Plan. Working on behalf of Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce and in partnership with IBP Strategy & Research, we engaged with SME employers via telephone and online surveys to identify their skills and recruitment challenges. The study provided conclusions and recommendations for consideration in the LSIP submitted by the Chamber to government.
HEY Digital Skills Analysis considered the demand and supply of digital skills in the region. Working on behalf of HEY LEP, the study aimed to support providers and employers to respond effectively to identified skills needs and informed strategic skills planning.
HEY Assets and Capabilities Study explored skills infrastructure in the region to consider post-16 provision through secondary and primary research including a deep dive into each FE and HE provider. These findings were presented in an interactive Power Bi dashboard with accompanying summary report. The research was used to support delivery of Stage 2 of the LSIP.
