We were part of a consortium commissioned to evaluate the 2014-20 ERDF programme, which funded a range of economic activities to support the growth plans of places across England.
The work involved a substantial programme of telephone interviews and sample surveys of businesses that had benefitted from start-up, SME competitiveness, research and innovation, and resource efficiency support over the last three years.
Our team also carried out longitudinal surveys capturing longer term impacts for beneficiaries supported during the 2018-20 period.
The evaluation has enabled DLUHC to understand (a) the process of implementation and delivery of the projects funded through the programme, and (b) whether and how this resulted in the intended outcomes and impact.
