Pendle Placemaking Advice

  • Year: 2022-2024
  • Client: Pendle Borough Council
  • Delivered By: GC Insight

GC Insight provided evidence, case-making, and strategy development to Pendle Borough Council to support the regeneration of four towns in the borough.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, ekosgen provided socio-economic advice to inform the development of three town masterplans in Colne, Earby and Barnoldswick. A comprehensive baseline of each town informed the development of options, and the outcomes and impacts of the preferred option was identified.

ekosgen led a team including socio-economic, regeneration, urban design, transport and community engagement specialists to deliver a robust and compliant Long Term Plan for Nelson in response to the opportunity to draw down £20m in funding over a 10-year period to support the regeneration of Nelson. The plan was community-led and underpinned by extensive engagement to articulate a strategic vision for the town framed around three intervention themes in line with government guidance. The plan was accompanied by a three-year Investment Plan.
