The aim of the demonstration projects was to increase the uptake of domestic retrofit work in a specific geography through providing funded support for the local supply chain for upskilling and co-ordination as well as targeting able-to-pay owner occupiers and the private rented sector with attractive and more affordable opportunities for retrofit work.
Through the Local Supply Chain Demonstrator scheme, six demonstration projects were commissioned to test different approaches for doing this.
The aim of the evaluation was to assess which approaches worked and why and the extent to which the scheme has achieved it’s intended objectives overall. The mixed method approach involved a programme of primary research with stakeholders, review of programme information and monitoring of delivery. This was adapted to the scale, scope and timescales of each demonstration project to generate case studies for each project as well as an overall assessment of the scheme.
