We were commissioned by the Science and Industry Museum in 2022 to assess the impact of plans to significantly enhance its educational offer through the development of an interactive ‘Wonderlab’ gallery, new learning facilities and outdoor play area.
Analysing the potential for greater educational attainment, cultural engagement and visitor spending from the forecasted increase in educational and general visits, the assessment provided robust insights into the social value and economic impact of the expansion.
This included consideration of the museum’s role as an employer during the construction phase, as well as the operational jobs and volunteering opportunities created.
Should the plans progress, our work will have helped to articulate the Museum’s role in making Greater Manchester a world leading city for STEM education.
